In Reply to: Female Ocicat for Germany - breeding/show quality? posted by Silke on September 11, 1998 at 06:01:30:
: I am a german breeder of Birmans and have discovered the Ocicats
: recently. Since I have not actually seen one personally - just
: on pics I would like to know what I have to look at for a
: good quality show/breeder female kitten.
: Over here in Germany I have been told just to look at the tawny
: colours because the others wouldn't show good markings.
: But I am especially interested in the choc-silvers. Since we
: do have a tawny stud available in Germany already.
: Any suggestions?
Chocolate Silvers are very tricky. They can be born with fabulous
contrast and then lose it or they can be born looking mousey and
then get fabulous. The females tend to lose their contrast but
not always!
I have a regional winning male chocolate silver ocicat who is really
gorgeous. I could keep you in mind for a kitten if you would tell me a
bit more about yourself and your cattery situation.
