On the ride over and back, she howled like crazy, but she was such a good little patient! She sat still (and shook like a leaf), and never uttered a noise - no meow, no hiss, no nothing. She let the doctor and techs do whatever they wanted to do.

She's definitely a SHE, but the doctor couldn't tell if she was pregnant. He said that if she is, she's very very early. He couldn't find a spay scar, either. He told me to keep an eye on how she behaves to see if she's going into heat. He did say that if she's as old as I think she is (at least 3 1/2), and she hasn't been spayed, she's in really good shape. He said that usually by that age, cats who've been outdoors and not spayed are pretty weathered looking.

She is feline leukemia NEGATIVE (yahoo!). She did have a few ear mites and some infection the wax in her ears. He gave me Otomax to put in her ears. He told me to keep her away from the other kitties until we get the ears taken care of, but I don't think we'll have a problem keeping them apart. LOL

I brought her into the house when I got home (cause the vet said it would be ok to make her a house kitty :) ) and Scarlett checked her out (in the carrier) without a noise. Lily hissed & growled (of course), and Daisy bristled her tail at her. Belle totally surprised me. Not a noise out of her.....I opened the carrier, and Belle stepped INTO the carrier to sniff her. I talked gently to Belle, thinking that any second she was going to attack, but she never did.

I decided to let Peanut leave the carrier if she wanted to, and she did. She went into the bathroom to hide behind the toilet. Belle followed, and is sitting about 18 inches away, not making a noise - just kinda keeping an eye on her. Lily joined her shortly afterwards, and is about 3 feet away, ***REALLY*** keeping an eye on her. Scarlett's in the bathroom, just hanging out, and Daisy's aggravating me. I think they'll adjust pretty well. It's always Lily who is the most difficult to win over..... But I was simply shocked at Belle's friendliness! Belle is just such a good kitty overall!! So maternal!

Try though I may, I cannot call Peanut by my new name for her -- "Maisy." So I guess I'll just keep that as her middle name. Peanut has "stuck" as her name...

So now I have 5 indoor kitties.... Lord, have mercy. I guess I'm trying to catch up with you 10 and 20 cat families....
