Sometime back I corresponded with the group about my cat, Patches. Patches is a male 18 month old cat and we recently adopted a little sister for him; she is 9 weeks old and her name is Pockets. We were worried that Patches would be jealous, but not so. He helps give the kitten, Pockets, a bath! Do some male cats have motherly instincts? I only have one problem. Pockets had surgery before the adoption and Patches tries to bite her in that spot. Any ideas for me on this problem?

• I had a similar problem when my mama cat was spayed because the baby was trying to nurse. The vet told me to put a baby's t-shirt on the mama which I did and she loved it! Also, you could separate them when you're not there to supervise. Otherwise if the incision opens up, the vet told me they have to redo it. Paulette 09:21:14 06/22/01 (0)
