You're right, everyone does have their own opinions. but this is not about what's best for the animals, it's about what's convenient for the owner. if God thought it was best for the cats, he wouldn't have given them claws. Somehow I think that God probably knows a little more about what's best for a cat than I do :)

Hold your hand out in front of you, and look at your fingers. Now imagine having all of your fingertips cut off at the first joint. That is what declawing is. How could chopping off their toes ever be considered good for them???

I'm glad your cat is okay, and doesn't have any problems. You're lucky. Not everyone is so lucky.

I just have a huge problem with declawing. If someone doesn't want a cat the way God made it, why don't they get another kind of pet? people declaw cats so they won't scratch.. what if they turn into biters? Should their teeth be removed? And then what if they cry all the time? Should their vocal chords be removed? And if they constantly jump up on the dining room table, should their legs be amputated so they can't do that? Where does it stop??

It just makes me very angry, and very sad.
