I'm no vet and I was always horrible at sciency things in school, so I can't help you in that way. I know what you mean about having little baby kitties to keep you busy and from dwelling on things too much; they keep you rational and driven, I think. One of my little kitties (well, she's almost two years) Kupo escaped from the house and ran away 1 1/2 weeks ago. Getting out fliers, searching everywhere and praying for her safe return have really left me worn out. Because I've been so busy with that, my emotions only seep out at times, usually right as I'm going to bed and realize she isn't there to read with me.
When my fiancee and I were at the SPCA checking for Kupo last week, this one little grey tabby kitty kept screaming at us to get our attention so we went over and talked to it and I asked to hold her. She immediately started pawing me and purring and the look on her face was begging me to take her home.
So as it turns out, I decided to adopt the little fuzzball, thinking maybe she could help me get through this rough time. I found out she had been adopted a day previous but returned because she "walked funny." The vet told me the next day her elbow must've been broken when she was very young and she'd always have a limp, but otherwise she was perfectly healthy. I think it was just meant to be that she came into my life that day.
When Kupo comes back, she'll have a new little sister to play with.
Sorry to ramble, I'm just feeling particularly depressed and disconsolate today and talking about my grief with others who understand it helps. My prayers and sympathy go out to you, Fluffy and the others.
