It looks a little different now. The top shelf of the closet got carpeted, and there is a half-circle carpeted thing in there for them to hide in or sleep, but they have actually never once used that, so I'm thinking of moving it lower maybe. The things at the bottom were not made by me, they are condos that I bought.
Thye actually don't use it as much as they used to, but Molly still scratches on the doorframe a million times a day. It's so much better than a regular scratching post because obviously it won't tip or fall over, and she can stand up on her tiptoes and reach waaaaay up and scratch away. I think if there was a window right there, they'd be in it all the time. I have tons of windows, and almost every window has a comfy siting place in front of it, and they spend about 80% of their waking time in front of the windows looking out. I bet if you build yours in front of a window the cats will be using it all the time!! :)
