Hi Susan -
I'm really bummed out about it. And 'm just really surprised, since I've been getting shots for a year now, and I am almost at the highest dosage, or actually might already even be there. There must just be something very unique about her. I think bathing might help some, but the fact that I'm allergic to whatever oil (or whatever it is) that she releases in her claws is not a good sign at all.. and bathing wouldn't do anything about that.
My sister has a cat, and about 5 or 6 years ago she was going away for the weekend, and I had to be nearby for a wedding. So I told her I'd feed the cat and stay at her house. I got there around midnight, and by 3am I had to get up and leave, and go check into a hotel because it was so bad I just couldn't stay. LOL.. The night clerk must have thought I was a druggie or something - my eyes were so red and swollen I could barely keep them open. It was horrible. So the fact that I could have Molly and Romy here for a whole year and not be affected at all shows how far I've come with my allergy shots. So that's why it's so surprising to me.
On a more positive note tho... ;) I played with Bijou last night with the cat dancer, and I've never laughed so hard!! Just her jumping around after it was funny enough, but the funniest thing is she likes to "catch" her prey and carry it off somewhere. So she would get the little cardboard things in her mouth and start carryign them away, but then would get all confused as to why this big wire thing kept following her! She would drop the cardboard things, and go pounce on the wire, waiting to make sure it stays still then picks up the cardboard things again, but then the wire started following her again! LOL - it was just the funniest thing. She is too much!!
By the way, I was looking at your name(s) listed there, and it made me wonder... did you name the visiting cat peanut on purpose so you could have a Peanutbutter Cup??? *grin*

: You know, I've always said that if I had allergies, I'd take ten shots a day if I had to in order to keep my girls. But I never thought about the fact that allergy medicine may not work! How terrible! I can't even imagine how it feels to have allergies, since I don't and never have had problems with that.
: Surely someone on here has another option for you. I know how hard it would be to give her up!
