I just bought the ZR25 and so far I like it. I checked out the
sony line, however, everything that was equal or below the cost of the ZR25 had this
very super annoying zoom button on the top that is
terrible for trying to zoom slow, then faster, then slower.
THe button sticks and you end up jerking a fast zoom on the SOny line.
I was going to buy sony, but after playing with them, I simply
dropped the whole idea (since I didn't want to putup the $1700 for the
newest Sony that has a new zoom button). Canon's zr25 image stabilization
blew the doors off any other camera I tried at the store. when
zoomed in, and WHILE zooming. Sharp, panasonic, jvc were definitely
more jittery and especially WHILE zooming compared to the solid'
canon. So far so good.
: I just got my first digital camcorder, and it being the ZR25MC is turning out to please me quite well. For everyday use and just fun having around, the 25 seemed to be the ideal choice. but when it comes to better zoom quality and maybe even better onboard digital effects, the sony handycam line has canon beat.
