I agree, theres not much difference..

Personally, I LOVE the DVM90 - its the 3rd JVC MiniDV Camcorder I've had (I originally bought a DVM50, then wanted the still picture ability, so I got a DVM70. One day, that decided to jump off a table, and didn't work anymore. I got the DVM90, and used it on one trip in December. My Fiance tried it out and she didn't really like the 'vertical' orientation of the DVM90... (I can't return it to the store, because the box got lost in some X-mas garbage and thrown out!!)

I know its not an upgrade - more of a parallel move..
The JVC has the Progressive Scan, the Sony has more megalixels...
The JVC is a smaller decive, the Sony has a larger LCD...

The onle thing I've learned from reading this Message board (and some others) is that you have to try the camera out, see if you like it. It doesn't matter if someones says 'this ones better' - if you can look at the end result and be satisfied with what you see, then thats the one you get.. Theres no hands down winner... They are all similiarly priced.. You find one you can be happy with, and you get it...

Its not a matter of one having advantages...

As for the TRV900 - I thought about it, but part of the reason I got the DVM series was because of the size, its bad enough I have to get a larger one like the TRV20, the TRV900 is even bigger.. I'm trying to keep one as small as possible.. (and I just HATE the feel of the PC5 and PC100)..

I've seen results from both of them, and quite honestly, they both look great to me.
