I go to the Studio DV forum boards alot, and from what I see, alot of people who have VIA kX chipsets have major problems. I had the VIA kT133 chipset and had problems Also. Called their tech support and they said the only mobo they were not recommending were Abits. But then again alot of people have those with success. Go figure!

: Me Again, some people swear by Via (Some at ....)

: I have posted many links to various discussions at

: & some fixes to the BIOS that have apparently worked.

: There is also a fix at for a OHIC card at http://www.dvdoctor.net/cgi-bin/ubb/Forum10/HTML/002519.html.

: : Hi

: : I posted earlier about what was the best low cost choice of firewire card and DV software, John replied with the PyroDV url, thanks for that John.

: : I've looked around and the Pyro seems the best choice but with all the cards and software, compatability seems to be an issue.

: : My setup is as follows;

: : Athlon 1Ghz with ATX Asus K7V motherboard Via cipset
: : 256 MB RAM
: : NVidia Gforce G2 graphics card
: : Creative 1024 live sound card
: : Sony PC110e

: : Is anyone using the ADS Pyro with a similar setup?

: : Or does anyone know of any compatability issues I may find?

: : Thanks
