1 year ago my cholestoral level was up to 249 and decided to diet without the use of medication. I cut out candy, chips, cakes, bacon, pork, butter anything that was fatty consistency. Oh I cut out alot of junk food, I mean tons. I started eating healthier and paying more attention on the lables of products and buying items that were fat free and eating fruit. I don't smoke, quit 5 yrs ago. I brought my level down to 197. I also take a daily vitamin and a garlic pill.
I've had it checked 3 weeks ago and I'm down to 149, been excersizing for 7 months 3 to 4 times a week and when the weather is nice I walk at lunch time. I did loose 18 lbs when I dieted but put back on 8 lbs of muscle. I do manage to cheat once in awhile but maintain descipline. Thats the most important thing you can do is to be disciplined. I worked to hard to get it down to where it is now to stop and throw away, all my time and effort. It's the same way I feel about cigarette smoking too. I can't turn back so I'm going forward.....healthy. And you know it's working.
