: recently i had my blood tested for a school physical to get my cholestoral level. I had very high cholestoral. My overall cholestoral was 212. I was told that was very high for someone my age being that i am only 13. I don't know a whole lot about cholestoral and i am not sure what i should do to help reduce it. I've already started watching what i eat, I have dance classes for more that 6 hours a week, and I'm not at all over weight i am very petite. I know that if i don't eat food with a lot of cholestoral my cholestoral won't go up as much. what i don't understand is how you actually lose cholestoral or do you lose cholestoral? I would appreciate and information anyone could post thanx

Hello Becky,

I am not a doctor, but I also had high Cholesterol of 230 and by following the advice of Dr. John McDougall who is a medical internist in California, I reduced my Cholesterol to 152 within 3 months time. This will require a committment to change the way you think about eating and exercise. Look up the McDougall Program on the net through www.Google.com and Dr. McDougall has several books written on eating healthy which you can find at any major book store. I have not only lowered my Cholesterol, but I lowered my blood pressure from 180/105 with a pulse rate of 85, to 120/71 with a pulse of 58.

Good Luck with your health!!

Rick
