This is our first trip tp Ireland and we would like to make this a trip the kids will never forget. the money situation is fine. Our main concern is for the kids to have and to have a hands on experience on every family trip we go on. I usualy have the kids walk 3-4 miles a day to all the places I think they would enjoy and make it interesting and fun for them so they don't become bored and they love it. We have always done it this way. We have 2 problems 1) My husband only goes on trips first class and we never mind paying extrat for more room for the kids the reality of it all is space=not getting on each others nerves=fun family vacation. I have arranged (bought) our air this way Ireland 8/5 -8/12, Scottland 8/12-8/15, London 8/15- 8-/19 returning on the 19th. We arrive into Snn on 8/5/07 (which is 5 nights to stay in sourrounding areas 8/5 -8/10) and had planned to work our way to Dublin and stay in the center of it all from 8/10 -8/12. Take a flight to EDI/ Scottland or ferry and stay from 8/12 -8/15. Take train or a flight into LHR/London (center of it all)from 8/15 -8/19. I always make our travels early in the morning this way we fit in more fun things to do in one day. Some friends suggested to stay in Derry Manor (castel) for 2 days and take side trips ( such as cliffs of murray), stay in Waterford Castel on a B&B farm (they said the kids got to see a milking of a cow), Kenmerre Hotel (on the sea) then Dublin. I am really worried because when we take the kids on vacation we have always been there first and usualy know our way around and what we need to do and skip and above all where it is safe. Please excuse my spelling of all the places. I hope I have not bored you too much with all the info.
