Will be in ireland for 8 days this summer (august 07). Will be in London prior to flying to Dublin so no jet lag. Renting a car at Dublin airport and flying back home via Shannon.
Here's the plan:
Day 1: arrive in Dublin, drive to Kilkenny.overnight in Kilkenny.
Day 2: tour Kilkenny, the castle, overnight Kilkenny.
Day 3:Leave Kilkenny, travel to see Rock of Cashel, drive to Kenmare via Fermoy>Mallow>blarney>Macroom>Kenmare. Avoiding Cork traffic. Overnight in Kenmare
Day 4: all day in Kenmare, drive out to Glengarriff.
Overnight in Kenmare
Day 5: Drive to Dingle via Killarney, Moll's Gap, Ladies view, Muckross House, onto Dingle. Night in Dingle
Day 6: full day in Dingle, overnight
Day 7: Head to county clare via ferry. Overnight in Kilrush. Daytrip to Kilkee, loop head drive.
Day 8: Continue up the coast drive, see the Cliffs of Moher, Ballyvaughn for lunch, onto Bunratty for the last night.
Day 9: Home via Shannon.
How does the above sound? Am I missing anything enroute to my destinations? Suggestions welcome.
