Thanks so much for all your help in the past.

Dear Marian,

Delighted to hear that you are going to attend the Harp School in Castleconnell. It has a great reputation.

Castleconnell itself is a very small village (www.castleconnell.ie), off the usual tourist track except for the Castleoaks Hotel, which (I presume) must be the hotel you have tried to find no availability. It is the ideal place to stay and I would pursue it, in case a vacancy can be found - Janet Harbison at the harp school should have some influence on your behalf. The hotel also offers self-catering accommodations on the property (Riverside Mews) which is a great alternative because you can cook your own meals, but the price might be high for only one person as the cottages accommodate 5-6 people are priced accordingly, whether, 1 or more occupy a cottage. They start at about 700 a week. This is reasonable if you are a party of two or more.

Failing that, here is a B&B that I have heard of but never stayed in or checked out: Rivergrove B&B at World's End, Castleconnell - www.rivergrovehouse.com.

Since you say you want to walk to the harp school, I am sort of assuming you are not renting a car? If I am wrong and you will have a car at your disposal, then you can stay at nearby villages/towns such as O'Brien's Bridge or Killaloe, both just over the border in Co. Clare but very close. There is a great selection of B&Bs especially in Killaloe.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more.
PAT
