: Hi Pat,
: You were so helpful to me as I planned my incredible SW Ireland car trip last summer. I ahve two questions for my next venture.
: 1) I'm flying into Dublin the last week of August and taking the train up to Belfast to take the ferry over to Scotland for 7 days there. I happened to catch the Rick Steve's special on N. Ireland's sights and am no really trying to figure out a way to add a night in Belfast so I can see the Causeway, Rope Bridge and Bushmills distillery. I'm young and love to travel alone but should I make an exception and take a bus tour (I saw one on the N. Ireland Tourism sight that gets you to all of those places for a fairly small fee. Or should I rent a car for the day.
: 2) Who do you recommend who would be like you for Scotland. I'm at an impasse in my planning over one thing and I cannot find the answer I need. It involves renting a car in Maillog or Skye and returning it to Inverness. know anyone or anything? Thanks!!!
: Cheers!!

Dear Jason,
Great to hear from you again - and happy to know that my advice was helpful to you last year.
With regard to Belfast, it certainly is worth while to linger and see some of the sights of the Antrim coast via a bus tour. In my section of The North, you can click to "Sightseeing Tours" and you will see that two companies offer such tours. Either one would be good. It is certainly smarter than renting a car fo one day (and sometimes, especially in August, car rental companies impose a two-day minumum.)
With regard to Scotland, I do not know of another web site like mine. Your best bet is to try Fodor''s or Frommer's or other travel Forums. The main caution with those, however, is that you are getting advice from people who may have only visited once or twice, and give bad advice simply because they don't know the whole story, and do not have years of experience to draw on.
Enjoyed your report.
Good luck,
PAT
