Dear Stella,
Without a series of diamond wheels with various grits, it will be very difficult to obtain the polish you require. However, there are alternativess to purchasing a cabbing unit. I know of a cutter in Seattle that will cab a gem from rough to finish for around twenty dollars. I am sure there is someone in your area that may also provide affordable assistance.
