Be an Expert or not... That's the question

Hi!

I have a Computer Science Degree. Finished college two years
ago, and my work experience (mostly with big international companies)
was more focused on consulting, and system analysis with a broader view.
Now I am looking for a job, but most of the IT companies want an Expert
with THIS or THAT tool or language. They require deep knowledge of one thing
in particular, and I usually don't have one.
I'd like to know: Is there a place for somebody who has a programming college
formation, but Consulting experience. How can I deal with that in the interviews?
