Joe,
The IT market is HOT, but I've seen many young graduates have a tough time getting started. Here are a few ideas:
1. Don't waste your time with 3rd Party or Independent Recruiters like TRG. Generally, employers ask us to find experienced professionals with at least a year or two of computing experience.
2. Lower your expectations. You may have read stories about new college graduates starting at $60-70K per year. Those are the exceptions, not the rule.
3. Network, network, network! Tell everyone you know that you're looking for a job. College professors, past part-time employers, peers, etc. are excellent sources of employment leads.
4. Spend less time "perfecting" your resume and more time working on your interviewing skills. The perfect resume will get you an interview. But its the interview that gets you the job. Even if you think your interviewing skills are outstanding, read a book or two about interviewing. And then practice, practice, practice!

Good luck and let me know how it goes...

: Hi,
: I just graduated with a 4-year degree in CIS this December. For some reason, I'm having trouble getting a good solid job with a reputable employer. Any ideas?

: Joe
